Help….

He said:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
 Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

I try to challenge myself with creative type activities. I am trying this blog idea as a creative challenge. As a huge part of my life is blessing from my heavenly father and I feel I must share these moments when they happen to make sure I give him thanks and to encourage you to get to know him.

Our family recently took a trip to Houston, Texas. The trip was a Christmas gift to our daughter as the main purpose for taking it was a concert at the Houston Rodeo. This trip was also on my son’s tenth birthday so we were able to do some activities for him as well. We did not want to drive in Houston. With the high cost of plane tickets we just thought we may have to drive. Thankfully airline tickets did decrease a little before we left so we booked a flight. The day we left there was some severe weather here in Arkansas and Texas. Thankfully the early morning just had rain and as we got closer to Houston the rain and storms were less. The photo above is from our flight south. Since we did fly we were dependent on ride services and hotel shuttle. When we got there we were thankful we were not driving!

Since the concert was after the rodeo we knew it would be a late night. The hotel shuttle dropped us off at the rodeo but since it was going to be after 9:00 PM when we were set to leave we would have to use a ride service. Our shuttle driver told us the arena area was closed to traffic and we would need to return to the intersection he dropped us off at to request a ride. The concert was great. It was crowded as I think they announced there was around 67,000 people in attendance. The walk out after the concert was shoulder to shoulder. I requested a ride using one service but got nothing. I tried another and was connected to a driver but there was some confusion for some reason with that driver and on the app it appeared to just sit a ways from us. It was close to midnight at this point. We were tired and scared standing out at the intersection waiting for a ride. Thankfully there were two sheriff deputies at the intersection directing traffic which I cannot say thanks enough to for how they helped us feel safe. I wish I had gotten their names. I tried several more times on the different ride service applications but could not get connected to a driver. The deputies helped us and shared tips on connecting to a driver. As we stood there at the intersection one of the deputies came and helped me request a driver again. As he was helping me a lady walked up and began to talk with my wife. We do not know where she came from or how she even knew our need for a ride but she offered to drive us to the hotel. About this time I did get connected to a driver and it was close. The deputy made sure the driver got parked at the intersection and we thanked the lady for offering the ride. I wish I had gotten her name but in the busyness of it all I did not even realize what she was offering. It was not until later my wife and I were able to share with each other what had happened.

I am not sure if this deputy and the lady realize it or not but I believe they were sent by God that night to a street corner in Houston, Texas to bless a family from south Arkansas at midnight. I do not wish to over spiritualize stuff but when the Lord moves I want to be thankful and share. After some activities the next day we headed back home on a much clearer flight.

I want to say thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. To say thanks more I have a few free phone wallpapers here.

Please do me a favor, if you enjoyed the post please share it with a friend.

Thank So Much! -Michael
