Atomic Habits Book

I have been trying to become more of a reader. I try to read my bible and a book daily. I’ve never been much of a reader in the past.

One book I read as I’ve tried to become more of a reader is Atomic Habits by James Clear. In this book he talks about ahead of goals maybe consider developing habits and in those habits goals will come. The difference is goals do have a conclusion but a habit is unending. I know there are habits that I’ve developed in life (some good and some bad). For instance I used to drink a coke with lunch everyday, after I went months in the hospital and without a coke I can’t stand the taste of one. A habit that was broken. I grow a garden. As a young kid my parents and grandparents would start a garden every year. To this day when it warms up I find myself out in the garden. A habit that’s been developed from a young age.

Now I am trying to develop some new habits. I try to have 10,000 steps per day. I want this habit to be healthy and to be intentional. And when I am not intentional on it a usually find myself short on that goal. For instance Friday I was not intentional and found I ended the day at 9600 steps (oh so close). I know I could just say a goal of mine is to remain at a certain weight or fitness level but for me in developing the habit of a certain number of steps is best.

If you enjoy reading this type of book I could not recommend it more. There are so many good points in the book on habits vs. goals I could not start to cover them all.

I want to say thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. To say thanks more I have a few free phone wallpapers here.

Please do me a favor, if you enjoyed the post please share it with a friend.

Thank So Much! -Michael
