Alaska Whales

I’ve been writing about our trip on an Alaskan Cruise back in 2009. I will continue on that for one more week with a few photos from the whale watching trip we went on. It was the last stop of our trip, Juneau. We didn’t have anything planned but after talking it over we figured we better do something to make the most of the trip. We checked with the cruise ship and there was space on a whale watching trip.

The trip was supposed to be a combo whale watching and a salmon meal on an island. The weather was too rough to get to the island but we did go to a salmon cookout at Juneau after the trip. The whale watching was amazing. The humpback whales were breaching quite a bit. It was a sight to behold and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. We’re going to take our kids to Alaska this summer and will do a whale watching trip with them. Hopefully it is as exciting! Since this trip in 2009 we have always said we wanted to go back when the kids were old enough.
