I recently bought a new lens for my camera, a Canon 24mm 2.8. I wanted to test it out so my daughter and I drove out to one of our favorite spots, Warren Prairie. We love seeing the wildflowers growing out at Warren Prairie. I used to have a 50mm (nifty 50) but can’t find it anywhere. The 50mm was a bit too zoomed in for me but I had some neat photos from it. I bought this 24mm lens because I needed a wide format lens. The autofocus on my wide Sigma lens has stopped working and I can’t manually get the focus right. I’m not that good at f-stop settings but hopefully using this lens I’ll get better at it. I usually just leave the lens set at the widest setting and really forget about it. I mainly just worry with setting my focal length and ISO. I’m really not that good at the camera settings stuff but do usually stay off auto.
We did catch a few wildflowers on this trip. We’re already planning our next trip out to Warren Prairie for more wildflowers. The light was a bit harsh and not the best time of the day for photography as we had to go in the middle of the day. In a lot of my pictures I took there is motion blur in the photos from the high afternoon winds. Due to the wind and harsh light I had my shutter speed up pretty high. If you like photography and are interested in what little bit I know about camera settings please let me know and I’ll share that in an e-mail. I’ll post a few of my photos below then hope to get some of AG’s photos on here for a part 2 tomorrow.
