Who Is My Lord?

I mentioned a while back reading Grace In The Gray by Mike Donehey. I just finished that book. In the final chapter he tells a story that makes the point “Whoever you’re giving control to, whatever is filling up your mind and your heart – those people, those things, are already the lords of your life. I don’t think Jesus wants to be your lord to hurt you or harm you. In fact, because He knows every other lord will only end up hurting you in the end, He must be asking us to make Him lord because He knows He’s the only lord who will truly be kind.” – Grace In The Gray, Mike Donehey

This really struck me. There’s so many things I’ve made lord ahead of my savior Jesus Christ that only end up disappointing me and hurting me at some point. I don’t have any answers to this as I read it last night before bed but it is something I’ll think on more. In my frustrations in this life could it because I’ve allowed other things to become my lord?

I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
