Gardening comes with many frustrations but first let’s look at a few thing that are working.
I planted a tray of Black Zebra Cherry Tomatoes for some late season tomatoes. These seeds are of from Hoss Tools. They’re coming up now and nearly all cells in my 24 cell seed starting tray is coming up. This tray is part of the 48 Cell Seed Starting Kit from Hoss Tools. I really like these trays! The 24 cells is really almost too much for my garden on tomatoes but it’s nice to have extra plants to give to friends and with many seed packs coming with 50 seeds it’s the perfect size for planting two seeds per tray. I’ll probably plant these plants in my Grow Boxes I’ve mentioned before. The plants I have in those are about done.
Our pollinator garden is looking great. I’m seeing blooms on the second type of plant in the mix. It is a vining plant with beautiful white blooms. I’ve not been able to figure out what they are called so if you know please send me a message.
I thought this was neat the other day. In my backyard, behind the garden is a brush pile that I’ve thrown bird seed around the spot. The weeds and grass have come up on it but some of the birdseed has also sprouted with the rain we’ve gotten lately.

Ok, speaking of weeds and grass, that’s my frustration I mentioned at the beginning of this post. It’s seemed with the heavy rains lately that I’ve not been able to keep up controlling the weeds. When I’ve tried it’s been too wet. This weekend when looking at my garden where I planted my rooted tomatoes the grass was too bad and I could not see the tomato plants at all. So I had to just mow the plot. My Topazio Bean area of the plot is weedy but not as bad as the other side where the tomatoes were planted so I’ve left that for now. This plot had the silage tarp on it before I planted it, so I know the weeds would have been much worse without the tarp on it before planting. I’m going to try to till that spot if the grass isn’t too bad this week. I guess let’s look at the positive here, there’s some good organic material for my clay soil!
I want to say thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. To say thanks more I have a few free phone wallpapers here.
Please do me a favor, if you enjoyed the post please share it with a friend.
Thank So Much! -Michael
