Last week I had one of those moments I’m very thankful for. I was invited by several friends to attend The SEARK Men’s Summit put on by First Baptist Church of Monticello. In this meeting there was a great time of eating, worship and a message from God’s word. The message preached included the story of Bartimaeus in Luke chapter 18. Bartimaeus was a blind beggar in Jericho who cried out to Jesus and was healed. Now I left this time beyond encouraged from the word. I came home and needed some time to wind down a bit before going to bed so I read some in the book I’ve been reading called Crazy Faith by Michael Todd. And the chapter I was on also was on Bartimaeus. I’m guessing I needed this word!
As I’ve been thinking on the story of Bartimaeus I was reminded of part of my story. This week is one year since I started my job. At a time where I was very scared of what was next in life I started a new job. Looking at some records of my first week I see after handling new hire paperwork I was tasked on a project I still work on today and was able to start developing a system of maps used by many.
In the story of Bartimaeus the blind beggar Bartimaeus heard the commotion and asked what was going on. They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” -Luke 18:37 He then proceeded to yell out for Jesus and even though he was told to hush he got louder, then Jesus walked over and stopped…
Have you been there? I was wondering what was next then hired. I must admit I was worried but then I was hired. I’ll not forget it but I interviewed then was told it would be several days before I’d know anything. I do not remember exactly if it was that afternoon or the next but I received a call from my now employer offering me the position. I could write on and on about the past year but let me close by saying I’m thankful.
Where are you? Do you have a struggle? Is something worrying you? My worries have not ended but I do know Jesus is passing by…
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

As always, a great read! Thank you for sharing!
