Finally, Cooled Off!

I figure with as much as I’ve commented on the heat I better comment on how it has finally cooled off! This is my favorite time of year. I just love Fall weather. For the first time in months I did not need to mow my yard this weekend.

One of my favorite signs of fall is seeing ripe Persimmons. The trees in my backyard are absolutely loaded with fruit this year. My favorite thing with Persimmons is how much wildlife love them. I saw a ripe Persimmon on the ground the other day and said the next morning I would take my camera out and get a photo of the fallish scene. The only thing on the ground the next morning was it’s stem. All kinds of wildlife enjoy Persimmons. If you want to see someone pucker with a bitter fruit give them a green one. I seem to have a memory of my mom and a green Persimmon when I was about ten years old! I picked one the other day to let my daughter try a Persimmon but figured I better try it first. I’m glad I did! I’m still puckering from the bitterness! This Persimmon was close to ripe but not quite there!

The RSB!

Thanks!
