Oh, I didn’t know!

So I did something the other day that I’ve not attempted in a while. I wanted to put some game cameras out at Lake Monticello (no that’s not the different part). The water is coming up out there and I found my boots leak (that’s the part I didn’t know) trying to put a camera at the water’s edge. So for those wondering, my cold feet and wet socks prove the water is coming! It’s been a while since I’ve walked in water like that so even though it was cold it was good to get out in it for a few!

Right before I did this walk I spoke to Bennie Ryburn and he mentioned having some updated photos he took from the air that he was going to send. I’ll share those here:

If you want to see the biggest difference go back to this post from July and compare the photograph of the ramp from that post to the one in this post. Again, I’ll say, “It’s Coming!

The other day I looked at some satellite photography of the lake and was going to share that here too. When I first looked at it I could not see any change. I looked at it some more and I could see the change, although not as obvious the water is starting to be visible from the satellite in the shallow parts of the lake! I’ll check again after the spring rains and see if there’s something to share!
