It’s Friday, but Sunday is Coming!
I love the thought and the hope found in Easter. “It’s Friday, but Sunday is Coming!”
Yes, my savior Jesus gave his life on Friday. All at the time were without hope. And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. -Matthew 7:50. Jesus gave his life because he knew we’d need a savior.
I like the book It’s Friday But Sunday Is Coming. I just read it again before Easter. In it Tony Campolo says, “When that terrible Friday had ended, it looked as though the demonic host had triumphed and that the Prince of Glory was sealed and defeated in a borrowed tomb. But that was Friday. Three days later Jesus rolled the stone away and became Christus Victor. He had brought the powers of darkness to nothing.”
Since today we know what is coming, Sunday – victory over sin and death, we celebrate. My savior, Jesus, died so that I may have life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 6:23 Do you know him?
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
