This Week – 06/10/2024

This is my weekly summary of posts made this week plus a few extra parts.

This Week’s Posts:

One challenge I enjoy is photography. I’m not the most talented photographer but enjoy the chase of wildlife photography the most. In this post I go after photos of birds in my backyard.

I am in a challenge with my friend to grow the tallest sunflower. This is my post one of the challenge.

It’s not much but I finally got my first fresh tomatoes of the year!

To close out the posts this week is a post about a recent early morning on Lake Monticello

Word Of Encouragement This Week:

My encouragement this week comes from Psalm 136. In this Psalm it goes back to creation and through all God did for the Israelittes. At the end of each verse it repeats: His love endures forever.

There have been many times in life where I get frustrated at the moment but always when I look back on the struggle I see the hand of God at work. The same God who created the heavens and earth loves me. Don’t forget the truth we’re taught in John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I was encouraged by John 16:33 this week and hopefully you will be too. Way too often I think the struggles are too much in this life. In John 16:33 we’re told this life is not without hard times but Jesus came to this earth to give us a way to peace. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

In my reading of John 16:33 I read it in my ESV study bible which mentioned 1 John 4:4 – You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Do you know him he overcomes the world? His name is Jesus…

I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

I need to remember: His love endures forever. Do you know him?

Song Of Encouragement This Week:

This morning on my way to work I was thinking about this encouragement and this song came on the radio. In the song is the line “The Same God Who’s Never Late Is Working All Things Out”

I Choose To Praise…

My Favorite Photograph This Week:

(I’m still getting the red clay mud out of my truck and off my camera after this photograph)

Michael Gilbert: This blog is a personal project of ramblings from me on a variety of subjects. In suggestion articles I’ve read on creating a blog everything suggests creating a niche type subject for everything but this blog is a summary of my life which has a bunch of moving parts. I was unable to decide on an area of life to focus this blog on so I went with many subjects. Sorry if my ramblings are too scattered for you!

If you’re curious on who this rambling redneck from south Arkansas is you can read my story here.

Thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings!

-Michael

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. -Philippians 1:20 (NIV)

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!

-Michael Gilbert
