Sunflower Challenge (Post 2)

I mentioned last week a challenge I have with my friend Robbie at the Wild Huckleberry on who can grow the tallest sunflower.

I thought I had taken more photographs of my plants in my trays but I guess I did not. As I mentioned I lost several plants in a heavy rain this spring but this one and one more survived the storm. These are the Skyscraper Sunflower from Hoss Tools. This is the first year I’ve tried this variety so I’ll see how it does and if I’ll try it again.

So far it is not the tallest sunflower I’ve grown but I’ll report how it does as there’s a lot of growing season ahead. Please note the plants growing in the background of these photos as I’ll mention them in a future post.
