What Is Growing In My Garden – Peas

Today’s post will be short, I just wanted to show the crop of Purple Hull Peas I have growing out in my garden this summer. Last week I posted a photo of my first fresh tomatoes of the year. (Please do me a favor, answer the quick survey below.) Since I took this photo I’ve gone around the plants with my hoe again to cultivate a little around them. Before this photo was taken I thinned the plants a little as I just planted them by dropping seeds in a furrow by hand so the spacing was a bit thick in a few spots. We’ll see how these do as it’s been a while since I planted Purple Hull Peas.

You may notice the grass and weeds sprouting in my middles. My garden is a new plot and I’ve been fighting the grass this whole time. Up until this past April this spot was lawn covered by grass. I’ve got the area next to my plants pretty clean for now. My tiller is not running good right now so I’ve not been able to till it as usual.

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!
