This is my weekly summary of posts made this week plus a few extra parts.
This Week’s Posts:
Word Of Encouragement This Week:
This week’s word of encouragement is from 2 Chronicles 20:15. My friend Ryan Copico preached from 2 Chronicles 20 this past Sunday. I’ll leave a link to his message down below.
This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. – 2 Chronicles 20:15
I just realized as I am writing this my encouragement came from just a few verses back last week (2 Chronicles 20:12). Think I may need to pay attention!
I’m not going to pretend to quote Ryan’s message here but I’d highly encourage you to go listen to the full sermon as you can.
I want to be a man who seeks God and proclaim that he’s in control! The battle is not ours…

The picture in the background of 2 Chronicles 20:15 above is one I took several years ago. It’s a pretty special photograph to me because of the story with it. I do not remember the year but I had to to go to a meeting over around Jackson, MS one day. The meeting took a large part of the day. We were driving through the delta on the way back home and when we started going north at sunset I remember seeing a big plume of smoke up around Monticello. Come to find out there was a large wildfire just outside of town. It burned quite a few acres of industrial pine timberland. I do not remember much about it but do remember seeing the smoke at sunset from a long distance away. Now fast forward a while and I was invited by my neighbors to join a hunting lease they had on this land. As I walked the lease to learn it better I discovered it was the same property that I saw burning from a long way away that day. I snapped the photo that’s the background mentioned for this photo. In it you can see a burned tree from the fire as well as wildflowers growing after the fire. (There’s a sermon right there). From destruction come beauty, the creator God uses disaster and turns it to a reminder that this is his!
Remember: You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Song Of Encouragement This Week:
As I was working on last week’s song of encouragement I looked for “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” I like Larnell Harris so I listened to it then posted it to last week’s post. Afterwards his “But God” showed up as a recommended video on YouTube. I’m not sure how but I’ve never heard this song. I’ve mentioned in a few posts how the but God moments in scripture are some of my favorite. I was really encouraged by this song and hopefully you will be too!
My Favorite Photograph This Week:

One goal of this project is to recommend local business/organizations. This week I’ll continue with this goal, I want to mention my friends at Paradigm Fitness here in Monticello again. I’ve mentioned Paradigm before. If I remember correctly I’ve been working out at at Paradigm fitness for about two years. I appreciate Paradigm for helping me each week and are always available to customize my workout if needed from what is assigned to the class.

I’ve never been one to workout! But after my stroke that I talked about in MY STORY I wanted to do more to get healthy. I cannot imagine what my life would be without Paradigm’s challenging workouts and encouragement each week. I know I’d not live as active a life as I do right now.
If you need a workout plan please check out Paradigm. They have plans for everyone!
Thanks Paradigm coaches and athletes for the encouragement each week!

Michael Gilbert: This blog is a personal project of ramblings from me on a variety of subjects. In suggestion articles I’ve read on creating a blog everything suggests creating a niche type subject for everything but this blog is a summary of my life which has a bunch of moving parts. I was unable to decide on an area of life to focus this blog on so I went with many subjects. Sorry if my ramblings are too scattered for you!
If you’re curious on who this rambling redneck from south Arkansas is you can read my story here.
Thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings!

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. -Philippians 1:20 (NIV)

Wish to support future content here on my blog? I have this beautiful canvas print available for purchase:

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:
- Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
- Share with a friend.
These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.
Thanks!

-Michael Gilbert
