Not Planned Photographs!

This week I’ll focus on some recent photography opportunities I’ve had lately…

I’ve found in the photography hobby my favorite photographs come from moment of when I’m not going for a photo but when I open my eyes and look around me in the moment of life I’m in. I’ve had three of those type moments this week.

The Backyard Bird

In my backyard I’ve been seeing this bird in a dead tree in my backyard. I thought it was an Osprey but I just looked it up and I do not believe it is. Maybe I can get an ID (I’m not a bird ID expert at all). I looked out the back door the other day and spotted it again after supper. I grabbed my camera from my truck and tried to get in the right spot. I did not quite get in the spot I wanted where the light was better but I did get a couple photographs.

Ok, I just messaged a friend of mine who knows a lot about birds. This is a Mississippi Kite. I’m pretty sure I just saw it land in the tree again.

Deer Fawns

I’ve posted before the deer we see in the backyard of my office. The other day I spotted these fawns napping in the backyard. I was busy but thought I might have a moment in a few to take a picture. When I finally got that moment they were gone! At the end of the day I went to leave and spotted them back again. I went and grabbed my camera and snapped a few photographs.

More Sunrise Photos

I’ve mentioned my morning routine. The other morning I left as usual before daylight and decided to walk at Lake Monticello. As I walked I could tell by the view East the sunrise was going to be a special one. I kicked myself for not going to a better sunrise spot but as I said this was the moment I was in. I did not get the most print worthy sunrise pictures but did get a few. Watching the sunrise is always a special moment for me!

Tomorrow’s post will be another sunrise picture!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!
