I mentioned yesterday having a particular photograph I was looking to get. While I’ve setup near my garden taking pictures of birds and whatnot I’d see hummingbirds around my Zinnias but could never get a photo. This time I setup closer and tried to keep my camera ready and pointed towards the Zinnias (but as you can see from yesterday’s post I’m not too good at being focused). I did see a hummingbird feeding on the Zinnias and even got some pictures. I believe this is only the second time I’ve gotten hummingbird photos and the first time on planted flowers instead of a feeder.

I really like these photos! It’s neat to watch the hummingbirds. I went back out there after this for another setup (which I’ll post tomorrow). I saw a couple different hummingbirds on this day but was not setup to get a photo.

It feels good to have a goal for a photograph and then see it. I did not think I’d get this one, as the hummingbird does not sit in one place for long! It came by a couple times before I got a photograph. The pictures around the orange Zinnia was one of the first times it came by then left. The other pictures it seemed to stay a little long on those flowers than the first times it came by. So if you drive by my house and see me sitting in a chair with my camera next to the garden I’m probably chasing hummingbirds!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:
- Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
- Share with a friend.
These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.
Thanks!
