Fall Plantings

I mentioned yesterday working on my fall garden. As I’ve also mentioned here that I have a surgery coming in about a month. My goal is to have the garden ready by then. I’ve started some seeds in my seed starting tray and planted some late warm season cover crops. In this I have planted some Iron Clay Cowpeas and sunflowers. I have never planted these two crops this late so this is an experiment for sure. It’s about two months before our average first frost so hopefully I’ll have some time for these plants to get mature. I have some cool season cover crops I’ll be planting in the coming weeks. In my tray I’ve planted some onions to overwinter and some broccoli to grow this fall. I’m also planting three rows of green beans which I’ll plant soon. Green beans are my favorite fall crop, hopefully they do good this year!

Below is a few pictures of the plantings I’ve done so far:

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!
