Let’s Tie This Week Together…Flowers and Star Trails

I know I’ve been saying this week I’ll be focusing on flower photography. I’m going to pause that today for some more star trail photos but will try to tie the star trail photos with flowers and my earlier posts with tomorrow’s post. Tuesdays post was from a photography outing with my daughter Ady Grace. In that post I mentioned a page I’d be adding to focus on photography outing I get to take with her. Well that page is ready if you want to check it out (link below).

This Week’s Previous Posts:

As I said, I will try to tie this all together with today’s post. I’ll post below another photo from the setup of my star trail post photo from Wednesday. The only difference is I lit the area in front of my camera up with my flashlight. This is called light painting where you shine a light source during a long exposure. I’ve never really liked any of my light painting attempts before but I thought this one was interesting. In the photo you can see a white flower lit up, this is the same flower from our favorite photograph Ady Grace took from Tuesday’s post. Now for the photo I’m mentioning:

I also took a few more photos while I was out. The first one I’ll post below is taken from the dock at Lake Monticello to show how bright the moonlight was. I’ll actually post two photos both taken within seconds of each other at different camera settings (if you’re curious to discuss please send me a message) to show how much light was shining…

Ok these are not lit by anything but the moon just with different camera settings. The first one looks like it was taken in morning sunlight to me!

Then I drove back home but had a few minute before I had to get ready for work so I setup my camera again for another star trail capture. The light you see on the right side of the photograph are the lights from Monticello.

I’d like to say I’ll be taking a break on star trail photos soon but I really enjoy taking them! Seeing the glory of God’s creation in the sky never gets old to me and I hope you’re not tired of it either!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!
