Photos From The Truck Window

Last weekend I went out to Lake Monticello for some photographs. This weekend I was planning on going somewhere else but because it’s been raining I decided driving all the way there and possibly getting rained on wasn’t my best option. I decided to stay closer to home and go back to Lake Monticello. As usual the outing did not disappoint me…

Below is a link to last week’s post:

Ok, now on to this weekend’s outing to Lake Monticello.

I started out just taking photos from my truck window because it was raining lightly. At first there were a couple of birds I spotted from the parking lot but was not in the right spot for a picture. By the time I moved to a better spot one of the birds had flown off.

You lookin’ at me?

Another few birds I spotted from my truck in the parking lot…

This bird was a little far so I moved to a different spot to get a few mores photos…
Same spot but I lowered my lens’s focus length for this photo for a wider view

Ok, rain’s stopped so it’s out of the truck for these next few photos:

I tried taking a few wildflower photos but the wind was too strong for a sharp photo

These next few are my favorites of the day…

Singing a song!
Better hold on!
Cropped version of previous photo for a better view.

Ok, these next few photos are not of my favorite sight at Lake Monticello. After the water level was emptied for levee repairs and the lake finally being allowed to fill back up. The lake has now been lowered ten (10) feet again for levee inspections due to a possible concern with the levee. No, I’ll admit this is frustrating. The fact that very few updates have officially come has been the toughest part.

But Lake Monticello is close and it is a spot whether full or not I’ll visit as long as I can no matter the lake level. Yes, I’d love to see a lot of things out there…But, I’ve had some great outings to Lake Monticello over the years of living here in Monticello (started visiting before moving to Monticello) and plan to continue visiting as long as allowed!

I’m hopeful this is only a short setback. I’m thankful for those who are working on Lake Monticello and am thankful for all the opportunities to get outside there! It is neat to be out there and see many enjoying the outdoors!

Friends, no matter where…please get outside!!
