I think back to my times in the hospital. The times I’ve been there either before or after surgeries it wasn’t a fear of death that got me down but a fear of a changed life. But as I would get down someone would come to encourage me. I usually didn’t recognize the encouragement as it happened but afterwards I’d feel a peace that was unmistakable. I truly believe God sent those I needed at the times I needed them.
The other day I heard this version of a song I have listened to many times but never really paid much attention to the words. The Same God:
In the song there are a few lines about a couple times from the Bible where the hand of God was at work even though I’m sure the thought was “why”. In the song is a line “I’m calling on the God of Moses. The One who opened up the ocean”. Can you imagine being chased by the enemy BUT God opens the sea, the blockade, that’s about to be the cause of you death and you go on through. Ever happened to you? Maybe it wasn’t as drastic as splitting the sea but if you think about I’m sure you’ll think of a moment or two where he was guiding you.
I love the story of the splitting Red Sea by Moses, if you do not know it I suggest reading it for yourself in the Bible (book of Exodus). “The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.” – Exodus 14:23
So, this song talks about the God of Jacob and Moses. I know, I know that was a long time ago but we see later in the New Testament stories of miracles. But let’s look at the present, in our lives. Can you look back at miracles? I for sure can. Both in my own life and through the stories of others we can see the hand of God moving. I like to say that I don’t usually catch it at the moment but looking back I can see he hand of God leading me through life.
As this song says he is the rock!

As I say in my story I was scared of death BUT then I met the savior, Jesus, when I was 10 years old. It was pretty amazing that I went from being scared of death all the time to never really thinking about it. Jesus became my first thing. There’s been plenty of failures in my life since but he’s the first thing in my life, he (Jesus) who forgives.
Remember: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
Just as the song Same God says, “You heard Your children then, You hear Your children now. You are the same God, You are the same God”
I find myself getting down in life sometimes but then I remember the times God has brought me through this life and I know he will again.
He’s the Same God!
I find myself living in the past too much….
Not sure about this? Do you need a savior?
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
