I went for a drive hoping for some photograph opportunities. It was in the middle of the day before I got out, not ideal for photos with the harsh lighting but I went anyway. As I was driving I could see something up ahead walking down the side of the road, I thought it was a cat. Now let me pause there, before I go out on a photo drive I usually make sure my long wildlife lens is on my camera and the camera is in my passenger seat just in case I see some wildlife. NOW UNPAUSE…So as I get closer I see it is a momma racoon with two young racoons walking down the road. I stop to attempt a photo, they did not seem to scared of me as I was pretty close. Here’s what I got:
NOTHING!
Yep, nothing, not a photo, zilch. I was fumbling around trying to get everything on my camera ready but they walked off into the woods. As I drove off I saw them in the rearview mirror crossing the road behind me but they were running pretty fast so I just kept going!
So I continued to my first stop for my photo drive, Cut-Off Creek WMA. I thought as I left my house I’d not do many (if any) wildflower photos today BUT I can’t help myself, I enjoy seeing them too much!
I was taking another photograph of some flowers and noticed these. The first photos (the other flowers) did not turn out very good to me so I’m sharing these.

Know what these are? Select an option below if you do:

That will end my photos from Cut-Off Creek WMA but not my photo drive. From Cut-Off I drove to the delta (farmland) for a few photos…
Usually it is a little later in the summer before I make a drive in the delta so it was neat to see some different things!
I enjoyed watching these for a while (from my truck in the A/C nonetheless)
That’ll be the last photo from this outing! I did not get the photo I was hoping for on this drive but I enjoyed the time outside. It was hot so I did not get out of my truck for too long (I was being lazy!)
Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:
- Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
- Share with a friend.
These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.
Thanks!
