Hope!

I posted yesterday on my favorite times of the day. It is an “extra” post this week as I typically post on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As I posted the song “Promises” it says “Great is HIS faithfulness”. As I’ve experienced throughout my life trials come but then looking back on the struggle a time of peace is coming!

“Great Is Your Faithfulness!”

In my daily reading a few days ago the theme was hope. I’m currently reading “the Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel” reading plan where it guides me through the Psalms, New Testament, an Old Testament with commentary from Nicky and Pippa Gumbel.

In the reading the other day Mr. Gumbel highlighted several verses on Hope plus some commentary on the subject.

Mr. Gumbel referenced a few verses on hope and one was from 1 Peter which really caught my eye:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you” – 1 Peter 1:3-4

Then part of the devotional that day was:

“The origin of hope is the God of hope. The reason for hope is Jesus. The source of hope in you is the Holy Spirit. This hope is not wishful thinking. It is rooted in what God has done for us and is doing in us.” – Nick Gumbel

It is “the other in the fire”, the fires of life that gives me hope. As tough times come it’s My God who bring me through. It’s the HOPE I have because of the risen Savior, Jesus, in my life that get’s through whatever comes. It’s the Holy Spirit who resides in my life that makes sure I’m hearing HIM when I need it.
