I’m re-reading a book I read a while back right now. It is Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table by Louie Giglio. I read chapter 4 this morning and it hit me straight in the teeth. My pastor, Rob Leonard, at Pauline Baptist Church has challenged the church to start memorizing scripture. One of the passages he challenged us to learn is Psalm 23. I thought while I was finally trying to memorize the chapter I’d re-read this book. The book came at just the right time for me. If I remember correctly the other chapters will hit too just as chapter 4 did this morning so maybe I’ll write more on it in the future…
In chapter 4 there were several point Mr. Giglio made on lies from the enemy (Satan). One was on the lie of comparison. On the “grass is greener on the other side” or comparison Louie Giglio says:
“But you don’t have to live this way. Jesus is calling you back to His table, to your table for two. Don’t give the Enemy a seat at your table.” – Louie Giglio
He also mentions John 10:10 in this section so I looked it up:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10
I could quote several lines from my reading this morning but won’t fill up this post from a repost of another book. If you read I could not recommend the book more. But I will quote another line from chapter 4:
“The Holy One invited you here. Booked the table. Prepared the meal. Sat down to join you. And this reservation cost Him everything.” -Louie Giglio
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11
O, Come…
Christ is Risen!
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
