If you’ve been around here and read my ramblings you might notice Philippians 1:20 several times. In high school I first was introduced to the verse at church camp. I noted it and it has become my “life verse”. I believe I’ve mentioned that before.
The other day I was driving somewhere and the song “Just Jesus” by David Leonard came on the radio and I thought about Philippians 1:20. As the verse says “…Christ will be exalted in my body…”
That’s my reminder, it’s “Just Jesus”. I eagerly expect and hope that even in my worst or best Jesus Christ is exalted in my body, and the hard part for me is the ending of the verse: “…whether by life or by death.” I could talk about the verse and times it has come up, both good and bad. But I will say in high school the verse was embedded in my head by my God. And just when I need it the most, here it comes.
This song made me think of the song I’ve sung many times especially at the end of church serves or “the invitation”.
I Surrender All. All to Jesus, My Savior and Lord!
