Do Not Fear

Last week I wrote about God is my strength.

This week I’m going to continue with the thought. I just finished my morning reading of scripture and part of the reading was in 2 Chronicles. I thought about a series of verses from this reading and how I’d write about them soon. Then I just sat down and looked over the notes in my phone on what I’ve recently noted and found the following song which went along what what I just read! I thought, “OK, God there it is…”

This morning in 2 Chronicles (chapter 20) I read about the enemy coming to attack Judah. It says in 2 Chronicles 20:2: “A great multitude is coming…”. Verse three says, “Jehoshaphat was afraid…” but then the pivot, “…turned his attention to seek the Lord…”. There’s been plenty of times I’ve been afraid and maybe I have or have not sought the Lord in the moment (sometimes).

It happened just this week. A concern come up and someone mentioned a serious time of prayer for it. And you know what, it’s not over but we see peace in the situation. I had another situation recently of concern and the Lord sent me some help on it and I just received news a few days ago the situation was taken care of!

These are the Battles!

How often I forget! In 2 Chronicles we read in verses 6 and 7 Jehoshaphat begins talking to God in front of everyone and says, “O Lord, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You. Did You not, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and give it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?” – 2 Chronicles 20:6-7

Then it continues verse 9 says: “ Should evil come upon us, the sword, or judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for Your name is in this house) and cry to You in our distress, and You will hear and deliver us.

Then, in verse 14 it says that the Sprit of God came upon Jahaziel and he started to speak: “Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.

Then victory comes…”When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were routed.” – 2 Chronicles 20:22. The part that caught my attention there was The Lord set ambushes when they began singing and praising. It was not afterwards they sang and praised HIS name (so many times I do after) but when they started before, HE delivered them.

I forget too many times! I have been delivered by God from what I fear the most, death. If you’ve placed your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, Savior of the World, you have the same deliverance but if you haven’t you can today have the gift of God:

I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Goodbye Yesterday!

I have decided…
