First, let’s worship together:
In my bible reading plan from a few days ago I was reading in Nahum and the devotional from the section hit me. I had to go leave but had some time to read back over it later and wanted to share my notes for this week’s post:
From the reading plan’s author: “We all go through tough times. Jesus told us to not be surprised by trouble.” – Nicky Gumbel
He then pointed to two other verses:
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
AND
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” -Romans 8:37
BUT! Christ, He’s overcome the world!! “In Me…”, In Jesus we have peace!
As i read this I thought about Psalm 23:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
-Psalm 23
Want to give your heart to the savior of the world, Jesus?
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
