Watching Lightening

As I go through life it is my goal to bring praise to his name who created it all!

Last Thursday’s encouragement post had a scripture photo with a background of lightening. I had intended to share those lightening photos this week. I was talking to my dad and he asked about it.

Nice catch dad! Thanks for reading my ramblings!!

Here’s a link to last Thursday’s post:

Ok, now back to the lightning…

Last weekend a thunderstorm came through our area. I planned to go out to the lake and watch it come in a hopefully catch some lightening on camera as it came near Lake Monticello. I setup on the bank of the lake and took some photos before the storm came in. I tried to take some photos of the storm but didn’t think I was successful at catching lightening. I switched my camera to video mode and took some video with the plan of exporting scenes with lightening as I’ve done before. Well, my battery died in my camera so I went to the truck to see if my extra battery was in my backpack. It was but I didn’t have time to go set back up where I was out of fear of getting caught in the storm a ways from my truck. So I went and setup in another spot to try and capture video of the storm coming in.

But first let me share the one picture…

You know I said, “I tried to take some photos of the storm but didn’t think I was successful at catching lightening.” Well after getting home and looking at my pictures and video I found I did catch one “picture” of lightening before switching to video and my battery dying. Here it is:

The storm was still a ways off at this point. I was hitting my shutter button when I saw lightening. I didn’t think I got any photos but was surprised by this one!

Ok, now on to my video captures…

Before my battery died and I moved. Not quite as “sharp” as a photo but neat nonetheless.
Picture used in “lion” post mentioned above
I think this is my favorite!
Right behind that tree nearly every time!

Ok, I shared which is my favorite photo this week. What’s yours? Leve me a comment please if you have one.
