The other day I wrote about a trip to Warren Prairie with my daughter. Today’s post I’m heading the other direction from Monticello (east) to Cut-Off Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) which is owned and managed by the AGFC. It’s getting very hot here in south Arkansas so I headed out early (it didn’t help). The mosquitos about carried me off and the chigger bites are very itchy! With that I had a great time and first let me share some photo from the trip.

When I got out of my truck and was walking in I heard a Bobwhite Quail. After many conservation projects by the AGFC and others the bobwhite quail is making a comeback around here. I’ve not heard one since I was a kid so I got out my audio recorder and recorded the sound so I could listen again. I love the sound of birds in the morning!
While down on the creek I tried sitting down but the mosquitos were just too bad so I got up to take some pictures. When I was up a music bee as my grandpa used to call the came buzzing around so I got my recorder out again. If you take a listen you can here the mosquitos!
I really appreciate you for reading my stuff here. Now I need to go scratch chigger bites!
I want to say thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. To say thanks more I have a few free phone wallpapers here.
Please do me a favor, if you enjoyed the post please share it with a friend.
Thank So Much! -Michael
