That Settles It!

I try each Wednesday to write something encouraging. It is not because I’m the most encouraging person (there’s way too many to list) but to help me remember and document encouragement I’ve received during the week.

I want to document here that I finally finished a huge goal. I’ve mentioned wanting to be more of a person who reads. I’m ashamed to admit it but in my 38 years of life I’ve just now read the Bible cover to cover. This goal took me a little over a year but I’ve completed it. Next, I’ve got some bible chapter studies I want to complete then I’m going to read it again. These goals are part of trying to develop a habit of someone who reads.

We’re studying Praying Circles Around Your Children by Mark Batterson right now for our Sunday School class. In it he mentions Isaiah 59:21. In this part of the book he tells the story of parents speaking to their pastor and praying for their kid and a health struggle the kid was having. After the pastor read Isaiah 59:21 Mr. Batterson said the pastor closed his bible and said, “that settles it”. This part of the book really spoke to me and I hope that whatever your struggle is you can read in Isaiah and say that settles it too!

“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the Lord. Isaiah 59:21

I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

I want to say thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. To say thanks more I have a few free phone wallpapers here.
