I mentioned in the two posts last week, which were with the photo outings I had right before I left for Chicago back in October, that this week I’d focus on some backyard photos taken while I was home recovering. During this time I could not drive. I’m thankful for the friends and family that gave me a ride when needed. I’m especially thankful for my father-in-law, Joe, who gave me more rides than should be requested! Next week I’ll show photos from a ride my dad took me on. Below are links to my two posts from last week:
Both of these outings were fun. I especially thank the friends who invited me to wat the stars with them! The comet was a goal type moment for me. One I tried three different times to see but in true MG fashion I did see it at the last attempt!
Today I’ll continue with some yard photography I did during my recovery. As I’ve mentioned before I was “stuck” at home not allowed to drive so I took a few moments for some yard photography. One evening I was out getting my steps in when I looked to the south and saw Venus rising above the trees. I grabbed my camera from my truck and set it up for a photo…
This one photo isn’t much but its the first time I’ve had my camera out for a long exposure setup since my posts above from October. It had been way too long since I had sat and watched the sky for a few.
I’m reminded here:
Next week I’ll share some photo outings I finally had away from the house!
Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:
- Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
- Share with a friend.
These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.
Thanks!

-Michael Gilbert
