Backyard Wildflower Patch

I’m later this week on getting a post done. We were on vacation last week then busy since we got back home. I plan on getting through my photos from vacation and posting them next week.

For this week’s post I’m going to post some pictures I just took on a walk around my garden. The flowers I have growing back there are beautiful! I did see a butterfly flying around them before I got my camera, hopefully I’ll get a chance at some photos of some butterflies soon…

These sunflowers are “volunteers” from last year’s plants. I had tossed the flowers from last year in a pile here and this one germinated there.

Zinnias are my favorite flowers!

This is buckwheat, I plant it as a cover crop in my garden. I really like it as a cover crop (controls weeds) as it germinates and flowers quickly. I think these plants are about 4-6 weeks old.

These next few pictures are the reason I went and grabbed my camera. The purple flower in the middle of the other flowers caught my eye.

Ok, that’ll be a wrap for this week. Hopefully I get some time to go through my vacation pictures for a post next week!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!
