The Backyard Bird (What’s That?)

As I go through life it is my goal to bring praise to his name who created it all!

“…Christ will be exalted in my body…”

A few days ago I walked through the kitchen to see my wife looking at something out the window. She said, “There’s a bird just sitting still out there, it’s been there for a while.” I walked outside grabbed my camera from the truck. Of course my long lens was not on it, so I changed the lens then walked through the house and snapped a few photos from the back deck. I did my usual where I would start far from it taking pictures then moved closer so I wouldn’t scare it. I only ended up liking one of the pictures as all (even the one I liked) had some motion from me moving. I looked through the pictures, picked the one I liked, edit the colors a bit then uploaded to the iNaturalist application on my phone for ID help. It came back as a very generic answer so I cropped the picture then re-uploaded and this time it returned: Northern Flicker

My photo of the week I’ll share is this photo of the Northern Flicker in my backyard. To me it’s not my favorite or best but a recent story nonetheless…

Anywho, this Flicker stayed in the yard for a few more minutes then it flew off. I enjoy watching birds from our back deck. I have some more regular backyard guest I’m hoping to catch soon with my camera!
