Oh the gift, The Gift Of God that is in me!
We’re reminded back in 1 Timothy 4:14 to not “neglect the gift that is in you”
Reading commentary on this line from scripture the gift is not specified BUT below are gifts as discussed on gotquestions.org:
“Among the gifts listed in the Bible are prophecy, ministry, wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, teaching, exhorting, giving, ruling, showing mercy, speaking in languages, and interpreting languages.”
Then the article continues:
“Whatever the specific use, each gift fits together with the other gifts, and they all work together as the parts of the body to make a functional whole (Romans 12:5).”
in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.

Here’s my thoughts on gifts:
God does and can gift us as needed for the situations we find ourself in to bring his name glory and to point the world around us to him. As it reminds us in the quote above: “…each gift fits together…”
I heard it mentioned the other day that our example in life is Jesus in this. Not all his miracles were exactly the same but all touched the lives at the moment. Some lives were touched from miles away and some were touched by placing mud on the eyes of the blind. Some were fed by the thousands and some were healed after years of struggle.
It is in the situations of life I find myself down and frustrated BUT:
God!
I like Tony Evans Commentary on verse 7 of 2 Timothy chapter 1:
“Timothy struggled with a spirit of fear. His timidity probably resulted from a variety of factors, including his personality, persecution, false teachers, the burdens of ministry, and the lack of a strong male influence in his growing up years. But Paul assures him that fearfulness does not come from God. Rather, God’s Holy Spirit provides power, love, and sound judgment—the necessary spiritual resources for fulfilling ministry and employing spiritual gifts. Such divine resources are available to all—that is, power for the use of our gifts, love for those who benefit from them, and good discernment in the application of our gifts.” – Tony Evans
I had already completed this post (or so I thought) and was listening to a podcast during my morning walk. A point was made during the episode that hit me and I felt it went right along with today’s post so I’m adding the scripture references in here.
God was performing extraordinary miracles by Paul’s hands, so that even facecloths or aprons that had touched his skin were brought to the sick, and the diseases left them, and the evil spirits came out of them. – Acts 19:11-12 (CSB)
And
As a result, they would carry the sick out into the streets and lay them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them. – Acts 5:15 (CSB)
God is at work. Through these men’s hands (or shadow) HE was working mightily.
And HE works today!
HE’s at work through the body of HIS people
I’ll repeat it:
“…God’s Holy Spirit provides power, love, and sound judgment…”
HE provides us with what we need!
Don’t Neglect It
Since I met this blessed Savior, Jesus!
Fan into flame the gifts!
Do you know that touch from the savior? He came to provide for you, to love you, to bring you salvation!
I believe salvation is as easy as ABC. Admit You’re A Sinner, Believe Jesus Is Lord, Call Upon His Name (Confess).
