A Drive To My Most Favorite Place!

I’m continuing this week with photos taken during my recovery. Today’s post is from a road trip to see my parents at Thanksgiving. This was my first long drive so I took it alone to not risk anything with my family in case I had trouble. After eating lunch my parents rode with me to my favorite place: The Old River. I do not have the time or space to write all my memories from this place but it is a special spot for me. I grew up doing all the outdoor things here.

Here’s a little trivia for you: send me your answer to the following question….

On USGS topographic maps Old River Lake has a proper name with it. I’m not sure of the story on it but would love to hear if you know.

Posts from before surgery:

Both of these outings were fun. I especially thank the friends who invited me to wat the stars with them! The comet was a goal type moment for me. One I tried three different times to see but in true MG fashion I did see it at the last attempt!

It’s the paparazzi again! Thanks Mom and Dad for the ride!

I do not consider any of these photos to be my greatest catch but the place and having the opportunity to visit it on my first long drive seemed to be appropriate. It was here I had many firsts. First deer harvested close to this spot, first place to put in boat by myself (that’s a story in itself), first place to camp, the list goes on and on…

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! I have a few requests:

  • Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be notified of when I post again.
  • Share with a friend.

These three items help me to know if I am doing this right. A comment (good or bad) helps me to know what’s working and what’s not.

Thanks!
